Tranquility by realillusions Tranquility by realillusions
Two contrasting scenes. A tumultous sky above a serene landscape. Between them, an eerie sense of calm comes over those whoe view it.

I think I'll use this in a spacescape, but I do like it as it is. Terrain is from....well, I don't remember. I had about ten that I was using, and edited them all beyond recognition. If you happen to recognize it, let me know. I'd like to know myself.

4 hours render time, no post-work aside from border, etc.

:boogie:

Edit: changed a few small things, nothing you'd probably notice. Sorry if it was in the 'ol message center again.

That's beautiful.... I love the sky and the way the mountains contrast it.

hmm, neat. just as you said, mate, serene and silent. it really has kind of spacelandscape look.
As for the feeling I get - it looks a bit ... godforsaken, without life, dead. Maybe a few creatures would hel - nothing too complicated, just a few brushes of birds or something.
another thing that would help is a river, perhaps on the left. And, to push the serenity effect to its climax, what about changing the sky to the more blue one, I mean "earth blue" with small white cuddly clouds, perhaps one or two cumulonimbus would do as well.
Still, great job you did. cool.

I'm tired of seeing water and rock mountain renders - it is refreshing to see some green and a sky that was paid attention to :)

this is a really nice piece. Might I ask what software you made it with?
